I reinstalled Windows 10 today on a bare drive (i.e. all partitions deleted and then reformatted using an Ubuntu USB environment) on a 2020 HP ENVY x360 (13-ay0000).
Windows update got MOST of the drivers/software needed. The F8 mic mute button didn't work until I installed the OEM drivers from this page:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-13-ay0000-x360-convertible-laptop-pc-series...
Also, apparently Windows 10 must install a barebones AMD graphics driver, to get an AMD control center I had to also install the drivers from the link above.
The problem I am having is the F12 HP Command Center button. This software doesn't appear to be in that link above, it does not install with Windows update, and it isn't in the Windows store. On a fresh install, how can I get this software back along with the function button?

There is a direct link where it is hosted as an app on the Microsoft store (which I found on an older 2018 thread on these forums):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hp-command-center/9p92n00qv14j?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
I can confirm after installation that it works with my F12 key after opening it the first time.
Surprisingly it is not possible to open the Microsoft store, filter by HP, and find this software (nor does it seem to be searchable in any form).

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

I have nearly an identical problem. My issue started after what I believe a windows update as well.
The f12 doesnt start the software anymore, and the software itself seems to be corrupted (settings wont change when using the application) Redownloading it does not work for me, the same issue still stands.
After a factory reset of windows the application started when pressing the key, but never worked again after that.
It's sucha useful tool I'd hate to not be able to use it.
Maybe there's a program that lets you change the function of the functionality keys :)? To launcha 3rd party software?
