I have an HP Pavilion Gaming notebook (17" version from 2019) and I wanted to ask if there is any way for me to adjust time after which my keyboard backlight automatically turns off until it detects new input.
What I have in mind is adjusting the function of my keyboard that, when I turn the backlight on, switches it off after approximately 30 seconds of inactivity until it detects new input (either pressing any key or using touchpad) to light it back again.
The function itself is quite handy and I like it, but I would like to be able to adjust the time of inactivity after which my backlight switches off. Current default time seems too short and its a bit annoying when my backlight constantly turns off and on.
I've seen solutions on this forum where HP instructed users to get into BIOS settings and adjust keyboard backlight there, but in my model's BIOS I did not see any of the mentioned options.
Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
As you have mentioned that there is no option to adjust the keyboard backlight timeout settings in BIOS and there is no other option to change the settings and it is by design.
I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hello.
I don't want to be rude but that decision to don't allow adjustment of keyboard backlight time out is quite stupid.
It completely degrade experience with these laptops.
I have Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0002nc. Such a option disabled on gaming device is very bad.
Will be nice if you come with update of bios or other solution.
