Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have uninstalled HP Support Assistant. When I try to install it again it says a newer version is already installed and refuses to install. It seems a dead end.

Hello @jmsss

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

There are 2 types of HP Support Assistant

(1) Windows <App> from Windows Apps Store

https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/hp-support-assistant/9WZDNCRDRBFB?hl=en-us&gl=us

(2) Windows Application

You need to uninstall both

Kind regards

I have none of them.

Hello @jmsss

Let's turn back time ...

(1In most cases, the simplest solution:

=> Use Windows Restore to return to the restore point (date) >>> before <<< the error occurred.

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-restore-windows-10

See section < How to recover using System Restore on Windows 10 >

There is no error with the system. It seems a bug with HP Support Assistant.

Hello @jmsss

Go back to the point where HP Support Assistant was installed before you uninstalled it.

Kind regards

Hi.

Unfortunately that's not an option because this is a company laptop and I can't just go back in time losing what else has been done to the PC.

How can I report this bug?

Hello @jmsss

Did you uninstalled Windows Application or Windows App (from Microsoft Apps Store ! ) ?

HP Recommended

What do you mean? App = Application.

I never installed from the Windows Store.

Everything related to HP is uninstalled.
