Have new laptop. Completed warranty box. Ever since keep getting large blue box on screen saying welcome to your new HP, you're all set and done. How can I stop this please it is very annoying, any help welcome ! If delete the box it keeps coming up again. There seems to be no way of contacting HP for support on this.

Hi,

You're welcome :generic:

Open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, select Programs and Features and let the list populate.

If the HP Welcome program is listed here, right click the entry and select Uninstall.

Regards,

Hi,

From the Start Menu, select Settings, then System and then select Apps and features in the left hand pane.

When the list has populated, locate HP Welcome and left click it - you should now see the option to Uninstall.

Great info thanks. Found uninstall box clicked on it and it created another uninstll box which I then clicked on but nothing happened. Box just goes away no indication app has been uninstalled. Any further ideas ? Thanks

Hi,

All I can think of is that it was configured to do a silent uninstall - try rebooting the notebook and then check if the program is still listed in Apps and features.

David that seems to have done it. It has now gone from both lists so hope that the box will not pop up again. Appreciate your help. If you hear a scream from the UK it has come up again !! Many thanks...Terry

I too, had that blue box that wouldn't fo away.  I followed your instructions, and it did remove it.  Unlike, one of the other comments, I only had to do it once.  Have not re-booted.....will wait and see what happens.

Thanks for the help:smileyhappy:
