HP EliteBook 8440p Notebook PC

Hey all

Recently HP Removed all the downloads for my old laptop - HP EliteBook 8440p. I was wondering if there was any way for me to download the drivers once and make a backup as this is my test machine where I test all kinds of OSes and almost re-install every other month. Currently I am making a backup of the 8440w, which is the exact same PC (according the docs) and making a backup. Just hoping if I could get original files from HP. I'd rather not use third-party services like driver pack or something similar.

Thanks & Regards

Hi:

There must have been a problem with the webpage when you tried to access it, because I can access it just fine at the link below using Microsoft Edge:  Drivers for XP, Vista and W7.

Hi @Techguy_47

I can only suggest using HPIA which is a program for upgrading business notebooks.

Hi Resistencia

My product was originally shipped with windows 7 and so I does not support HPIA, and so doesn't come up in any of the lists.

Then use the model 8440w controllers are practically the same models as indicated in the service manual.

Thank you, this works!

But I found another way:

I used a VPN and was able to access the site from Netherlands, which was fortunately still up! I  plan on downloading all important drivers from there, and make a local back + upload to archive.org I'll share the link here for any future visitors.

From the multiple browsers I've tried, I've always gotten the "This product is now retired" page and didn't let me do anything

weird that your link still lets me open it. I'm from India if it matters

Maybe it does or the server that supports India has a problem.

HP is not yet to where they would retire driver support for the 8440p.

There's older business PCs than that which still have driver support.

I have the previous model 6930p which still has drivers:

I can even go as far back as the ancient nc6000 from 2004, and it still has drivers.

Yea I'm starting to think the same, as other countries work (through VPN) but not without a VPN

I'm not using a VPN.  Never have.
