Hello,
I have been having issues for some time with my computer, getting blue almost daily, I have been investigating the issue and I found something abut the drivers been outdated, I went into my Device Manager and found 2 drivers that were presenting errors, one was NVIDIA GeForce 940MX, which was presenting Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) and the other one was Unified Virtual HID, which was saying: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52).
So I tried updating the drivers from the device manager which was useless since the system says that the best drivers for my computer are already installed. I also tried looking for the drivers online, so I started with NVIDIA and got online in their website, I chatted with some NVIDIA tech representative, and they got to the conclusion that the BIOS is my issue, after downloading the latest driver from the site and it still got error code 43. The Nvidia Tech Rep, said that my BBIOS was using 2016 version, which he said could be causing the issue, I want to make sure I update my BIOS into the latest and accurate one, because I don't want to cause any damage to my computer.
How can I confirm if I install BIOS F.56 Rev.A I am not goona crash my computer? Could this really help with the drivers problem?
Thanks!

Hi@GretchenKS,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Pavilion Laptop gets blue screen errors randomly. The updates should fix the issue.
I have a few recommendations
- Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
- Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
If issue still persist then test the hard drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to rule out other hard drive issues
- Start or restart the computer.
- Press F2 repeatedly during start up to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility.
- Select Component Tests > Hard Drive > Quick Test.
- Click Run Once.
Once the test completes, results are displayed on the screen.
If the drive passes all tests, continue to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
