HP ENVY 15-k005sv Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I have exactly the same problem but with a marginally different HP laptop model (HP ENVY 15-k005sv Notebook).

I recently upgraded/refurbished my laptop by:

1) Adding an SSD (on top of my already existing 1 TB HDD)

2) Adding another 8 GB of RAM

3) Replacing altogether the default OS of Windows 8.1 (64-bit) with a clean installation of Windows 10 (64-bit)

My BIOS: Insyde F.57 Rev.A (06/12/2018)

Are there any BIOS updates for my laptop ? If affirmative, how do I install them ? If negative, how do I make sure that my laptop is up to date v-a-v security issues etc.

Also, any other vital updates ? Why have the drivers and all other relevant files disappeared from the respective page ? I used to be able to find them here: https://support.hp.com/sk-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-k000-notebook-pc/6936206/model/7158170 What happens if, for some reason, I need to find one of them again ?

Looking forward to your reply.

With Kind Regards,

Helen

Hi Bahnien,

Thank you for your reply.

I was afraid that I would hear that ...

For what it's worth, the machine may be old but it's still excellent. Along with the refurbishments, it's a super machine.

And I spared the environment from one more perfectly fine laptop discarded in the landfills of Africa ...  Enough with the madness of everybody wanting a new car, a new laptop and a new smartphone every 2-3 years. There ... I got this off my chest ... 🙂

Anyway, thank you very much for your help. Much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Helen
