HP 14s-fq0000 Laptop PC (9VN14AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Laptop, AMD Processor, Model HP 14s-fq0000 (9VN14AV) and when looking to update the BIOS and Drivers, I see that HP does not have a version higher than Windows 11 Version 22H2. The current Windows-11 version I am on is 24H2. I downloaded the highest version HP has (22H2) and executed it within Windows and it reached the point of Install, Make A Backup, etc. I selected Install, make a backup, hit continue and the screen with that information just vanished.

Any idea what is going on? Could it be that because I am on Windows-11 version 24H2?

Thank you,

Hi @LGLDSR71,

It seems like you are attempting to update your BIOS and drivers on an HP 14s-fq0000 laptop with a mismatch in Windows 11 versions. Here is how you can handle the situation:

Steps for BIOS and Driver Updates

  1. Ensure Correct Download Version:

    • Double-check the compatibility of the BIOS and drivers with your specific HP model and current Windows version. It's crucial to download the correct version that matches your current setup.
  2. Create a System Backup:

    • Always ensure a full data backup is created before any BIOS update. This prevents data loss if something goes wrong during the update process.
  3. Update through HP Support Assistant:

    • Use the HP Support Assistant to search for and install updates automatically. The application helps ensure that you download compatible updates for your specific model.
  4. BIOS Installation:

    • If you’ve downloaded the HP BIOS update from their official support site, run the executable in Windows. Follow the on-screen prompts carefully.
    • Allow the update to complete without interruptions, and make sure your laptop remains plugged into a power source during the process.
  5. Check BIOS Settings:

    • After updating, access the BIOS settings at startup (pressing F10, F2, or ESC on booting) to verify the current BIOS version and settings.
  6. Wait for Official Updates:

    • If current updates are not available for Windows 11 Version 24H2, you may need to wait for HP to release compatible updates for this version.

I'm an HP Employee.
