Hi,

After browsing through various threads with this problem but unable to find a solution, may I ask for help.

I have bought an HP Laptop recently that I use most of the time as a desktop replacement, esp. now due to the Covid-19 working from home conditions. The laptop is therefore plugged in all the time.

I am basically seeking a way to limit my laptop battery charging to 70-80% so that the battery doesn't always go up to 100%.

I have updated my BIOS to the latest version, there is no option to do this in the latest version of BIOS I could see.

There seems to be no other 3rd party software doing this either for HP.

Is this function available for HP laptops, if so, how can it be activated?

If this function is not available for HP laptops, what is the reason and will this become available soon?

Thank you for your help.

I think all HP Laptop should have this feature. Please develop this feature for us (not for business laptop only). Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

The average laptop battery is good for around 400 recharges cycles. After that, it starts to lose its capacity to hold a charge. This is about one and a half to three years of battery life for the average user. As the rechargeable battery begins to fail, the running time of the battery begins to decline.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
