Hi @Kbells,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 14 laptop has been running for four hours and the battery is still at 100 percent, it might be a cause for concern. While it's great that your battery is holding a charge, it's unusual for a laptop to stay at 100 percent for such an extended period of use.

Here are a few things you can consider and check.

  • Battery Indicator Accuracy: Sometimes, the battery indicator might not be accurate. To verify the actual battery level, you can check the battery icon in the system tray or use the built-in battery report tool in Windows.
  • Power Settings: Ensure that your power settings are configured correctly. Your laptop may be in a power-saving mode or may not be using the battery at all.
  • Calibration: Occasionally, recalibrating your laptop battery can help improve the accuracy of the battery indicator. You can do this by fully charging and then discharging your laptop.
  • Battery Health: Use diagnostic tools provided by HP software to check the health of your battery.
  • Firmware/Driver Updates: Ensure that your laptop's firmware and drivers are up-to-date. HP often releases updates that can address battery-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
