HP support had me do a system restore and restore and since then I frequently get this pop up window.

"Windows cannot find 'hpdiags://BatteryStatusTest'. Make sure you type the name correctly, and then try again."

How can I fix this error?

Hi @Blue_Water,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the battery status check is not working on your HP Spectre 15 after a system restore, there are several things you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Update your drivers: It's possible that the battery driver was not properly installed during the system restore. You can try updating the drivers for your battery by going to the Device Manager and selecting "Batteries". Right-click on your battery and select "Update driver".
  • Check the BIOS settings: Sometimes the battery status check may be disabled in the BIOS settings. To check this, restart your computer and enter the BIOS settings by pressing the appropriate key (usually F2 or Del) during startup. Look for the "Battery" or "Power" settings and make sure they are enabled.
  • Calibrate the battery: It's possible that the battery status check is not working because the battery needs to be calibrated. To do this, fully charge the battery and then discharge it completely by using your computer until it shuts down. Then, recharge the battery to full capacity.
  • Perform a system update: Sometimes a system update can fix issues with the battery status check. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
