Product: Pavilion Dv6700 NOTEBOOK PC FF514EA#ABV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a problem with my Pavilion dv6700 (dv6899ee). I can't find the updated bios to download on the HP site. By entering the serial number [personal information removed] in the form, the site finds nothing. How can I solve it?

You're very welcome.

There is a newer one but the dv6700 is not listed as supported.

If you want to take a gamble on it, here it is...

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.exe

It lists the dv9700 as supported, which is the same as the dv6700 but has the 17.1" display.

Maybe HP mistakenly left the dv6700 off the list.

Hi:

HP retired support for that model series since it is more than 10 years old.

It would be a pretty big gamble to try and update the BIOS when you are running W10, and the BIOS update was written to be run in Windows Vista.

Also, there is nothing a BIOS update would do for you in W10, but if you want to take the risk of turning your notebook into an expensive paperweight, here are the links to the last BIOS info and exe files that HP released for your notebook.

Thank you for your quick answer. I had this bios version. I looked up for the new one.
