Hello, I've searched the HP site and several forums and found that HP does not have the bios recovery archived for my model and Windows 10 os and most search's say to go to HP's website (!) for bios recovery. The problem: Black screen but I am able to view recovery option's that don't work,no ext monitor output and I've tried/followed every combination of prompt and recovery,F key's,bios update from within the laptop and have come to the conclusion that I need to find the bios for my exact model, download it to an external USB from a working computer or buy a new laptop. Stats: HP EliteBook 8460w, Bios 68SCF Ver. F.67, 2.20 GHz, 8192 Ram. A link would be great and I'll add any info I may have missed. Thanks!!

Hello and thank you for the quick reply and link to the bios! I searched from so many that weren't correct and couldn't find that link, was it right in front of me or is this a workaround/compatible bios exe? Much thanks again!!

UPDATE: After downloading the bios update file to an external USB stick the laptop continues to not recognize the USB. I can get to the F10 options and choose the correct option, save and exit and the laptop goes back into the start-up loop of HP logo, windows logo then "Laptop failed to start, gathering information"...... and I power it off and the same thing continues. Is there an over-ride of some sort? Thanks for your patience and help with this.
