Hello, I’m facing an issue with my Bluetooth device (boAt Rockerz 225 Pro+ neckband) when connected to my Windows PC. The audio frequently lags and sometimes stops for a few seconds on its own. I have already updated all drivers, and confirmed that the same neckband works perfectly with my phone, so the issue is specific to my PC. I suspect it may be related to the Bluetooth drivers, audio services, or interference. I’ve tried all basic fixes available online but the problem still exists. Kindly help me resolve this.

@AYUSH148, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing Bluetooth audio lag and dropouts with your boAt Rockerz 225 Pro+ neckband on your HP 15-e2000 laptop. Since you've already updated drivers and confirmed the headset works fine with your phone, let's go through some advanced troubleshooting steps to isolate and resolve the issue.
Update Bluetooth and Audio Drivers from HP
Even if Windows shows drivers are up to date, it's best to install the latest versions directly from HP:
- Visit the HP 15-e2000 Support Page
- Click on Software, Drivers and Firmware
- Download and install the latest:
- Bluetooth driver (usually under "Driver-Network")
- Realtek Audio driver (under "Driver-Audio")
Set Bluetooth Audio as Default Playback Device
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar → Sounds
- Go to the Playback tab
- Select your Bluetooth headset → Click Set Default
- Click OK
Disable Bluetooth Power Management
Sometimes Windows turns off Bluetooth to save power:
- Press Win + X → Device Manager
- Expand Bluetooth → Right-click your Bluetooth adapter → Properties
- Go to the Power Management tab
- Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
- Click OK
Run HP Audio Check
Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to test audio:
- Download and run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
- Select Component Tests → Audio → Follow the prompts
Check for Wireless Interference
Bluetooth operates on the 2.4GHz band, which can be affected by:
- Wi-Fi routers (especially if using 2.4GHz)
- USB 3.0 ports/devices Try:
- Switching to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network
- Moving away from other wireless devices
- Using a different USB port for peripherals
Optional: Use a Bluetooth USB Dongle
If the internal Bluetooth adapter continues to cause issues, a dedicated Bluetooth 5.0 USB dongle can offer better stability and range.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
