I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

I have the same problem with my G7. Went to tnhe computer looking for answers and it looks like the left hinge breaking is a common problem. This many problems must be a defect in the manufacturing process. My hince appears to have broken lhe bottom of the computer case.
Is anyone getting any help froh HP for this problem?

My HP Pavilion G7 has done exactly the same thing and on left side as you mention. The plastic inside broke. I tried gluing, but did not work. This appears to be a weak point on this laptop. Everything else works fine. Need to beef up the hinge so this does not happen and continue to give HP a bad name for poor quality. I looked up and is $75 for new hinge, which is ridicuous price. Should be 5 to $10 for no more than there is.... Help.

I agree. After taking the computer apart I found that the left hinge had bound up which caused the small brass nut inserts to break out of the bottom case half. This is for sure a manufacturing issue and HP should provide upgraded repair parts at no cost. I can make the repairsw myself if I had the parts

Same thing happened here man, my left hinge broke and I do not know what to do about it. I do not have insurance and it is not under warranty and I do not have the money to afford the repair to my laptop. I don't know what to do. Is there a class action or some type of team that can perhaps fix this problem. My laptop is not brand new, but never moves, but rather sits still.
