Hello,
I am trying to convert analogue mini DV videos from a Panasonic NV-DS77 camcorder to digital video files on my computer HP Envy x360 with Windows 11.
The camcorder is connected to my PC via a connection that looks like this: camcorder firewire 4-pin connexion- firewire 9-pin - USB Thunderbolt 2 - USB Thunderbolt 3 connexion to the computer.
I have downloaded the driver for the camcorder from Panasonic website and saved the files on my computer.
I have also tried to download some drivers for Ports ( COM&LPT) via the device manager.
Despite all this, the computer does not identify that there is a new connexion/device.
What do you recommend?

@Anita117 wrote:Thanks, I have now downloaded WinDV but the camera still doesn´t appear as an option on the computer or in WinDV. The cables I use are new, expensive versions but they could still be the problem I guess. I will try on a computer having windows 10 to see if there are any improvements.
There should be no difference between 10 and 11, the difference might be that the 1394 was built in and an adapter was not needed. Please join that forum and ask as they might know of better drivers.

Try this software
https://www.videohelp.com/software/WinDV
This is the only official software I can find but windows should see the device
https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/e_cam/download/downdvc_usb.html
Ask over that this forum
https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/266221-DV-PC-through-Firewire-cam-not-recognized
I no longer have my DV but it worked with windows 10 on a PC that had built in motherboard firewire.
If windows does not see the DV it should still show up as unknown but installing that WinDV app should work.
