@svik, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If your camera is missing from Device Manager and the Camera app isn’t working, here are some steps to help you resolve the issue on your HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0xxx.

Check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager

Sometimes the camera is disabled or hidden.

  • Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager
  • Click View → Select Show hidden devices
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras
  • If you see your camera, right-click → Enable device

Run HP Webcam Troubleshooter

HP provides a detailed guide to troubleshoot webcam issues:

HP PCs – Troubleshoot the Webcam (Windows 11)

Install or Update Camera Drivers

Visit the official HP support page for your model and install the latest drivers:

HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0xxx Drivers

  • Select your OS version (Windows 11)
  • Look for Camera, Imaging, or Universal Camera Driver
  • Download and install the driver

If no camera driver is listed, Windows Update may install it automatically.

Use Windows Update

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update
  • Click Check for updates
  • Install all available updates, especially optional ones under Advanced options > Optional updates

Run System File Checker

Corrupted system files can prevent hardware detection.

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator
  • Type: sfc /scannow → Press Enter
  • Restart your laptop after scan completes

Check for Physical Camera Toggle

Some HP laptops have a keyboard shortcut (e.g., F8 or F10) or a privacy shutter. Make sure it's not disabled physically.

BIOS Update (if needed)

If the camera still doesn’t appear, updating BIOS may help.

  • Visit the HP Support Page
  • Download the latest BIOS for your model
  • Follow on-screen instructions carefully

If the camera still doesn’t show up:

  • Try a clean reinstall of Windows 11
  • Use an external USB webcam as a temporary workaround

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!

Hi,

I tried all the steps no luck. In device manager under camera it is showing as integrated camera but it is greyed out. Also, there is no option to download camera driver in the HP portal. Could you help me to get the driver link or file?

HP Recommended

@svik, Thanks for the update! Since the camera shows up as "Integrated Camera" but is greyed out in Device Manager, and no driver is listed on the HP portal, here's how you can proceed:

Confirmed Driver Support Pages for Your Model

You can manually check and download drivers from these official HP pages:

If no camera driver is listed, it’s likely that the camera uses a generic Windows UVC (USB Video Class) driver, which is built into Windows 11.

Fix for Greyed-Out Integrated Camera

Try these steps to re-enable the camera:

1. Enable the Device Manually

  • Open Device Manager
  • Right-click on Integrated Camera under Cameras
  • Select Enable device

If "Enable" is not available, proceed to the next step.

2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Camera

  • Right-click on Integrated CameraUninstall device
  • Check Delete the driver software for this device (if available)
  • Restart your laptop
  • Windows should reinstall the driver automatically

3. Use HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can detect missing drivers and install them:

4. Check Windows Optional Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates
  • Look for any driver updates under Driver updates
  • Install any listed for camera or imaging devices

5. BIOS Settings

Sometimes the camera is disabled in BIOS:

  • Restart your laptop and enter BIOS (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during boot)
  • Look for Device Configuration or Security > I/O Port Access
  • Ensure Camera is Enabled
  • Save and exit

I hope this helps!

If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Yes” button to say thanks!

Take care and have a great day.
