Hello, Dear,
Hope you are doing well. I had problems with the camera and the touchscreen not working. I researched and tried to fix it myself, but I couldn't do it, so please help me. As you can see, there should be a camera between the Bluetooth and the computer. I am living with kids, and I also tried the Windows Insider program. Everything worked well, but now I have these problems now so please help me!!! Have a wonderful day.

Check hidden devices as well, just need to do....
open device manager, click view, show hidden devices. Also If both disappeared around the same time it could be related to a driver, chipset, BIOS, or windows update, rather than two separate hardware failures.

I had tried those steps: open Device Manager, click View, show hidden devices, but nothing changed. I saw that the camera was completely missing, and I need to install but I didn't know which driver my computer needs. If you don't mind, please tell me which driver I need to install, and I will do the rest. I had a touchscreen fail too, but later

Hello @ArakanSan, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for confirming. Since the camera is completely missing from Device Manager, installing a random camera driver would not be the right next step.
Please check the link for HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa0065qe software and drivers - HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa0065qe Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Since both the camera and touchscreen stopped working, this is important to check before we install anything.
Please provide:
- Your current Windows version and OS build. You can find this by pressing Windows + R, typing winver, and pressing Enter.
- In Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices, whether you see anything under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Universal Serial Bus controllers with a yellow warning icon or an unknown device.
- Whether the touchscreen is still listed under Human Interface Devices as a HID-compliant touch screen.
- Once you provide the Windows build, we can identify the appropriate HP driver/software package for this model rather than installing an incompatible camera driver.
Have a great day!

Good morning, dear. Thank you for your message, and sorry for the late reply. My PC Windows 11 version is 26H1(OS build 28000.2956). Yes. Under Universal Serial Bus controllers, there is a warning sign with (unknown USB device(device descriptor request failed). And the rest is well working i guess.
Have a wonderful day

Thank you for providing the Windows version and, especially, the Device Manager result. @ArakanSan
Since the built-in camera is completely missing and Windows is showing “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”, I would not recommend installing a random camera driver. This error means Windows is having trouble identifying a USB-connected device, so we first need to determine whether the camera is being detected at the hardware/USB level. Microsoft also recommends checking for hardware changes when a camera is not detected.
Please try these steps:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and select Properties.
- On the General tab, please tell me the Device status message shown there.
- Then go to Details → Property → select Hardware Ids and let me know what is displayed. Please do not post any serial number or other personal information on public.
- In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes and check whether the camera appears under Cameras or Imaging devices afterward.
Also, please check:
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras
and let me know whether any camera is listed there. Windows 11 uses this section to show cameras that it has detected.
One other important point: HP's driver page for the Pavilion All-in-One 24-xa0065qe currently lists Windows 10 as the supported operating system selection; it does not currently provide a specific Windows 11 camera driver for this model. Because you are running Windows 11 26H1 (build 28000.2956), I would therefore not want you to install an unrelated camera driver and potentially make the situation worse.
Once you provide the Device status and Hardware Ids for the Unknown USB Device, we can determine whether Windows is seeing the camera at all and decide the appropriate next step.
Have a great day!

Good morning. when i follow as you said, I found this message on the General tab: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed." and when I go to check detail/ property and hardware IDs, "USB/DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR _FAILURE"
I researched by myself and checked all other steps, but not working. I might be installing random drivers from HP software and drivers. And the way there was no window 11 option, so I am lost. Thank you for your time. Let me know what I should do next/. Have a wonderful day.

@ArakanSan Thank you for checking all of that and for providing the exact error. This information is very helpful.
I would not recommend installing random camera drivers. At this point, Windows is failing to identify the USB device itself, before a camera driver can properly load.
There is also an important compatibility point: HP's current driver page for the Pavilion All-in-One 24-xa0065qe lists Windows 10 as the supported operating system and does not currently provide a Windows 11 camera driver for this model.
Please try these two checks before installing anything else:
- Shut down the PC completely.
- Disconnect the PC from the power source.
- Hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power and start the PC.
- Open Device Manager and check whether the same Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) is still present.
- If it is still present, please right-click that device and select Uninstall device. Do not select any option to delete/remove a driver package if Windows presents one. Then restart the PC and check Device Manager again.
Because the camera and touchscreen are both affected, I would also like to know whether the touchscreen is still listed under:
Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen
If the touchscreen is also missing or has an error, please let us know.
At this stage, if the USB descriptor error returns after the restart and the device still cannot be identified, this points more toward a USB/device detection problem rather than simply a missing camera driver. Installing unrelated drivers would therefore be unlikely to resolve it.
Also, please don't worry about the Windows 11 driver selection for now we don't want you installing packages intended for a different HP model.
Once we know whether the touchscreen is also affected and whether the same USB descriptor error returns after the power reset, we can determine the next appropriate step.
Have a great day!

Good morning, Meghana. I hope you are doing well. I followed your steps, but nothing changed. The touch screen driver is attached below: Human Interface Device, but it is not working, and the camera driver is still completely missing. When I researched, I found the error code 43 problem. It will be missing a driver, I guess. I know it, but I don't know how to fix it. Thank you for working hard. Have a wonderful day.

Hi @ArakanSan
Meghana_10 is away for now; however, I'm Hawks_Eye, and I'll be happy to help you out!
Thank you for taking the time to test those steps and report back. I appreciate the update.
Since the camera is still missing, the Unknown USB Device (Code 43) error remains, and the touchscreen hardware is listed but not functioning, this is no longer pointing toward a simple missing camera driver. The fact that Windows can only see USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE means the device is not successfully identifying itself to the USB controller before a driver can load.
Let's perform a couple of checks to determine whether this is related to Windows or the underlying hardware:
- Turn off the PC completely.
- Power it on and repeatedly tap Esc to open the Startup Menu.
- Press F2 to launch HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Run any available Component Tests, especially for the camera, touchscreen, or multimedia devices if they are listed.
- Let us know whether the tests pass, fail, or generate a Failure ID.
I would also recommend entering the BIOS setup (F10 at startup) and checking whether any options related to the Integrated Camera, Touch Device, or similar hardware are enabled. HP BIOS settings include controls for camera and touch functionality on supported systems.
One question that may help narrow this down further: did the camera and touchscreen stop working after a specific event, such as a Windows update, BIOS update, or driver installation, or did both functions stop at the same time without any apparent change?
The results of the HP Hardware Diagnostics test will help determine the most appropriate next step.
Have a great day!
