HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek1000 (742H9AV)

I recently discovered that there is a possibility for HP Pav x360 Laptop 14-ek1018np (A4NA7EA) to charge via the usb-c port. Is this really possible? And what capacity should the charger have? Is it as efficient as a normal charger?

@Joao111, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding charging your HP Pavilion x360 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC via the USB-C port!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Can Your Laptop Charge via USB-C?

Yes, certain configurations of the HP Pavilion x360 14-inch series, such as the model 14-ek1018np (A4NA7EA), support USB-C charging. To confirm for your specific model, you can check: Product specification

What Capacity Should the Charger Have?
The recommended wattage for your device is typically 65 W Smart AC power adapter.  However, it also supports 45 W Smart AC power adapter.

Is USB-C Charging as Efficient as the Standard Charger?

  • Efficiency: A USB-C charger with the same wattage as your original adapter will provide comparable charging efficiency.
  • Flexibility: USB-C charging is more versatile, allowing you to use power banks or other USB-C adapters when needed.
  • Performance Considerations: If using a charger with lower wattage, charging may take longer, especially during heavy usage.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
