Hello,

 

I am trying to download the software for my printer.  The printer wasn't working correctly.  The print when I tried to print documents was faded.  I had changed the ink cartridges not long before this, so I don't believe it is the ink cartridges.  I thought the software might need to be updated but when I tried to do this the software wouldn't download.  I am getting an error message saying configuration parser error.  Could I get some help correcting this?

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

 

Depending on what you are doing, the download might be failing because there is no HP printer software for this printer and Windows 10. 

 

The Print and Scan Doctor software might not be able to handle "there is no software" and might balk, hang, fail.

 

What to do?

Install the Windows built-in print drivers.

The Built-in print drivers provide basic print function.

Example

Scan documents and photos: Complete scan jobs with a Windows app that works with the built-in driver.

  • Windows Fax and Scan: In Windows, search for and open Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Scan, and then select your printer.
  • Windows Paint: In Windows, search for and open Paint. Click FileFrom scanner or camera.
  • Windows Scan app: In Windows, search for and open the Windows Scan app. If it is not listed, go to Windows Scan (in English) to install it.

Okay, I tried downloading the software and when I tried to  use the printer I got an error message saying:

 

Error parsing c:\\windows\microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\config\machine config

Parser returned error 0x8004005.  Could you tell me what can be done to correct this?
