The HP Support Assistant shows a security alert on my laptop for User Account Control. I have this set as I choose to set it. How do I disable or acknowledge this alert without changing the setting? Changing the setting is not an option.

In HP Support Assistant, click the gear icon (Settings). Under Notifications, uncheck Health or Security categories, then close, restart your PC, and reopen, this prevents recurring UAC flags. Save changes and check for refresh.

If issue remains then you can just uninstall this app, It is useful app but is not mandatory for your PC to work and its functions can be substituted by other functions or apps.

I turned off everything, restarted the computer, and the #@$% program is still showing the alerts.  I'd prefer not to remove it because I still want the update notifications.

Disable HPSA startup auto-launch to reduce nagging: Search for Task Manager > Startup tab > Disable HP Support Assistant entries.

For stubborn cases, use Windows Services: Press Win+R, type services.msc, find "HP Support Assistant" services (if listed), set to Manual or Disabled, but test updates manually afterward.

HP Support informed me that HP Support Assistant is not designed to work on enterprise machines, which mine is, and recommended removing it and installing HP Image Analyst to manage updates on the machine.   He did not explain why it was on the machine in the first place.
