I have similar problem as described in closed topic HP programmable keys doesn't work - HP Support Community - 7747192
App is starting with box to set privacy options. Once I set one of them the box is displayed mentioned by user from mentioned post and box informing that an error occured during saving privacy settings. The app has all boxes and buttons inactive and I cannot set anything.
I have latest BOIS F11 version and latest HP Programmable Key from Microsoft Store 1.0.17.0.

Hi @Toommi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like your HP Programmable Key app is failing to save privacy settings and remains unusable. Since you already have the latest BIOS (F.11) and HP Programmable Key app (1.0.17.0), let's try the following troubleshooting steps:
Run HP Support Assistant & Check for Updates
- Download & install HP Support Assistant (if not already installed).
- Open HP Support Assistant and check for pending driver or firmware updates.
- Restart your laptop after updates.
Reset HP Programmable Key App
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Search for HP Programmable Key.
- Click Advanced options.
- Click Reset → Confirm.
- Restart your laptop and try running the app again.
Reinstall the HP Programmable Key App
- Uninstall HP Programmable Key:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find HP Programmable Key and uninstall it.
- Restart your laptop.
- Reinstall from the Microsoft Store:
- Open the Microsoft Store and search for HP Programmable Key.
- Click Install and wait for it to finish.
- Check if the issue persists.
Run HP Hotkey Support Setup
HP Programmable Keys depend on HP Hotkey Support Software. Try reinstalling it:
- Download HP Hotkey Support Setup.
- Run the installer and complete the installation.
- Restart your laptop.
- Check if the HP Programmable Key app works.
Try Running as Administrator
- Right-click on the HP Programmable Key app.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Try changing the privacy settings again.
Let me know how it goes.
