Hi,

I'm trying to update my Windows 10 OS and keep getting a message saying to uninstall HP Pavillion Notebook to update.

How do I resolve this?

Hi,

Can you provide the exact model of the notebook. Here you can see various ways to find it.

Find product and serial numbers for HP PCs, printers, and accessories | HP® Customer Support

It usually indicates that you need to update the BIOS

Thanks that has worked but now my laptop is ridiculously slow, any suggestions for this?

Ok.

Yes it is not going to be the fastest machine. You need to update the machine completely. In settings go to Windows settings > Wiundows update and let al the updates install.

You should replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD. This will give a great boost to the notebook.

Example

On page 40 of the service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive.

You can create a bootable USB drive with Windows on it and use it to reinstall Windows on the new SSD

As i said it will give a great boost to the everyday performance of the machine.

Hope it helps,

David
