I did get an email from amazon (where I purchased the laptop in 2018) stating that there was a recall with the battery (overheating issues). However, they suggested that I install an app that would tell me if this device was associated with the recalled products. After running the app, it states that this device was not affected.

Hello @Sigler17
(1) Temperatures are good
(2) Fan should be replaced.

(3) Where to buy ?
HP Partsurfer or HP Parts Store: ( Part possibly not available )

or
Search on aftermarket ( ebay, aliexpress, newegg, amazon, ... ) and catch genuine or compatible part.
Please pay attention to HP spare part number and specification !
Kind regards

I just wanted to update you on the the fan issue. I bought a used fan on ebay for a very good price ($11.50). Works just fine now! Thank you so much for all of your help! I'll go ahead and assume that the settings you help apply will help the longevity of the new fan/laptop altogether!
