Hello I am wondering if anyone has a problem with their 17 inch HP laptop where the hinge is super stiff and the case is cracking,  I never figured to buy a warranty because after a year and a half in which the laptop left home once this has happened.  In fact we did not even open and close it that much.  My son uses it for school and it basically just sits on his desk.  The cracking is real bad and both the keyboard and the bottom covers are cracked.  I don't even want to move it - forget about trying to close it.  Anyway I feel that this is nothing we did to cause this.  It's never been dropped.  I did call customer support and they said it was out of warranty.  To get this fixed would cost like $400.  Not even a discount for what I feel is a design flaw.  Anyone else?
