Hi. I just purchased the ENVY 360 2-in-1 laptop for my writing. It was a couple of days before I had to create an em dash in my novel, and that was when I realized that my keyboard doesn't have a number pad. On my old HP laptop I used Ctrl+Alt+Num- to create the em dash, but I obviously can't do that now. Apart from choosing Insert Symbol each time, does anyone know a quicker way to create an em dash?

I haven't tried the steps because you haven't listed any. It must surely be a shortcut, so please just tell me the combination of keys. If I have to do something to create this new shortcut, please write out the steps and I will follow them.

Try these steps:-
Press “alt+ctrl+minus” on the numeric keypad (the number section on the far right of your keyboard).
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

You can try these steps with the Virtual keyboard.
Go to Start, then select Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard, and turn on the On-Screen Keyboard toggle.
Keep me posted.
Cheers.
