HP Spectre X360
Microsoft Windows 11

Good morning!  My family just purchased an HP Spectre x360 laptop, an upgrade to a 6-year-old HP Spectre.  Seeking advice from this group on how to successfully transfer all settings from the old laptop to the new laptop.  More specifically, all of the user personalization and settings and printer settings.

Thank you,

John

yuo can create bucup from old pc

  1. Connect the external storage device that contains your backup files.

  2. In the search box on the taskbar, type Control Panel.

  3. Select it from the list of results, then select Backup and Restore (Windows 7).

you can read at this link

@mucrick67

I have personally found Microsoft backup/restore apps to be unreliable to the point of being useless.  I have not used them in a long time, as a result.

If you only want to transfer settings, then read up on a free applications called CLoneApp -- which despite the name, does not clone applications, but instead, clones settings.

You can also look at the premium migration tool known as EaseUS ToDo PC Transfer.  I have used this LOTS of time and found it to do a great job.  The PAID version transfers applications as well as accounts and settings.  I don't know what the trial version does, as I have not used that.
