Pavilion X360 14.ba091na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently purchased an HP Pavilion X360 14-ba091na from Currys and was informed by Currys that the laptop does come with Windows Hello. However I set it up yesterday and surprised it wasn't there so I quickly googled it and not 100% sure if it actually does coem with this laptop. It states in the sign-in options that "Windows Hello isn't available on this device".

I've done a windows 10 update this morning as suggested somewhere but still no joy. Does anyone know for sure if this laptop is supposed to have it or not?

Many thanks

From a Microsoft website:

Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Accounts  > Sign-in options  to set up Windows Hello. Under Windows Hello , you’ll see options for face, fingerprint, or iris if your PC has a fingerprint reader or a camera that supports it.

From the specs of your model I do not see that it has a fingerprint reader or an IR webcam:

Unfortunately, not every webcam will work with Windows Hello. Your PC will need an infrared (IR) camera to use the feature.

So "Hello" is part of any Windows 10 installation it just can't be activated and used for logon unless the laptop has hardware that supports it; either a fingerprint reader or IR webcam.

If Currys in the UK is like Best Buy in the USA I can understand how the sales help did not understand this fine point.

Thank you very much for your reply and the explanation. I have now spoken with Currys technical dept and they have confirmed that the laptop does not have windows hello or rather the ability to use windows hello. Shame that the webchat agent told me the wrong info before purchasing.
