HP ProBook 650 G2 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, yesterday I upgraded HP ProBook 650 G2 Notebook PC BIOS till version 1.51 from version 1.01. After update it started showing battery safety mode enable prompt each time it boots. I immediately registered for free battery replacement, but HP has not responded until now. I badly need battery working for my work and fear to accidentally press accept until battery arrives and battery will get irreversibly disabled. Documents suggest that battery safety mode was introduced in 1.40 version, so I wanted to either rollback to 1.01 or downgrade till version 1.39 or somehow else disable battery safety mode prompt function. I have not located any setting to do this in BIOS and dowgrading/rollbacking BIOS till both versions results in "system administrator has locked the bios version" error which is obviously came from HP, because BIOS settings do not employ any restrictions on BIOS downgrades.

How to overcome this problem?

Turned out that you have to type in BIOS downgrade confirmation code with main keyboard numbers, number pad is not working on that screen. And second only version 1.13 disables that function.

Problem solved.
