I understand your OMEN laptop is showing a message in OMEN Light Studio saying “Please search for compatible gear”. Let’s go through why this happens and what to check:

 

OMEN Light Studio Compatibility

OMEN Light Studio only works with supported OMEN devices (laptops, keyboards, mice, headsets, etc.).

If your laptop is recognized but no other accessories are connected, or the connected accessory isn’t supported, it may show “find compatible gear”.

Check Connected Devices

Make sure any OMEN peripherals you want to control are plugged in and powered on.

Check that they are recognized in Windows Device Manager.

Update OMEN Light Studio & Drivers

Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Updates → OMEN Light Studio.

Update to the latest version.

Also update OMEN device firmware and Windows drivers via HP Support Assistant.

Restart OMEN Light Studio

Sometimes the app doesn’t refresh connected devices. Close the app completely, then reopen it.

Connect your accessories after launching the app.

Check for Supported Accessories List

Some older OMEN devices or third-party peripherals are not compatible with Light Studio.

Refer to HP’s official OMEN Light Studio supported gear list to confirm your devices are included.
