[HP Elitebook 660 16inch G11 Notebook PC, Windows 11]

Hi,

I bought my Elitebook about a month ago. I almost always have it plugged in. When I first started using it I noticed that after a while it started charging only to 80%, which is what I want for battery longevity. Then I found the HP app and went into battery settings and set the Battery Manager to "Maximize battery health manager" which I read somewhere is supposed to stop charging at 80%. But now it always seems to charge to 100%. How can I make it only charge to 80%?

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hello simongwgtn.

Read this document, specifically the section named "What to expect from changing the default setting to Maximize My Battery Health". This is also explained in the Maximize Battery Health Management section of the following document: HP Battery Health Manager. A while back HP changed this setting and made it transparent, therefore the user always sees the laptop charging up to 100% but this full capacity leaves a portion (20%) always discharged to prolong the battery's life.
