Enable fingerprint scan before boot

Hi, I have an HP EliteBook 840 G6 with fingerprint scan

Is it possible to enable the fingerprint scan when I switch on the laptop, before boot ?

I searched for an option in BIOS but the only option is "fingerprint reset on reboot"

For the HP EliteBook 840 G6, the fingerprint reader is designed primarily for Windows Hello login after the operating system loads. Pre-boot fingerprint authentication (before Windows starts) is not supported on this model through the BIOS.

Ensure Proper Fingerprint Functionality in Windows

Update Fingerprint Drivers
Make sure the latest fingerprint sensor drivers and HP security software are installed. You can download them from the HP Support Drivers page for your model.

Verify Windows Hello Settings
Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and check that Fingerprint recognition (Windows Hello) is enabled and set up correctly.

BIOS Considerations

You may review BIOS settings related to Power-On Authentication, BIOS/Platform Security, or the Embedded Security Device.

These settings help with password-based pre-boot security but do not enable fingerprint authentication before the operating system loads.
