Elitebook 840 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,  I recently got my first hp product.  It's an hp elitebook 840 g6 and I love it. However an issue that bothered me was that it doesn't show the battery time remaining.

I have updated the bios and all the drivers and I have had no luck.  I even went into the registry editor and edited some things there but it didn't help.

This never happened on my previous devices.

Any help is much appreciated.

It is useless and misleading therefore Microsoft removed it. But if you loved it, you would be able to get it back. Please try

Oh ok,  that's weird,  on my other windows devices it shows the time remaining.  Thanks.

Hi,

Your advice doesn't work. My 3-month-old HP ProBook 455 G7 hasn't been ever showing remaining battery time (the time to last while running on battery). According to my opinion, the trouble is in HP bios/drivers. In the registry at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power EnergyEstimationEnabled is correctly set to 1, both EnergyEstimationDisabled and UserBatteryDischargeEstimator are missing as they should be.

How to enable remaining battery time?

I use several mobile devices running Windows 10 last version, including older HP ProBook model, showing remaining time correctly.

Thanks, Sodja
