I succesfully used for many months a external cardreader (Ewent EW1074). Suddenly the cardreader is not visible and I can not use the reader any more. The USB-ports work correctly. Can anybody help me out with this problem please?

Hello @104Jos
Go to the Device Manager and look for the USB Mass storage device and uninstall it.
With the USB card reader unplugged...
Type Device Manager in the Cortana Search Bar and choose if from the list.
Go to the View tab up in the top left corner of the window.
Put a check next to Show hidden devices.
Go down to Universal Serial Bus controllers and expand the arrow.
Right click on all the greyed out instances of USB Mass Storage Device and uninstall driver.
Do this for all of the greyed out devices.
Reboot.
Plug the USB Card Reader back in and see if it works.
Let me know what happens.
