I need to get rid of the hp with iolo popup demand to install on my hp envy laptop running windows 11. I already have the #1 virus protector running on my system so this iolo program is unnecessary!

Hi @PriscillaW,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to stop the iolo System Mechanic pop-up from appearing on your HP Envy laptop running Windows 11. Follow these steps to remove or disable it safely:

1. Uninstall iolo System Mechanic (if installed)

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Apps > Installed apps.
  3. Look for iolo System Mechanic or anything similar.
  4. Click the three dots next to it and select Uninstall.

If it's not listed, it might be a pre-installed trial or a notification from HP Support Assistant.

2. Disable from Startup (if not uninstallable)

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Startup tab.
  3. Look for any entry related to iolo or System Mechanic.
  4. Right-click and choose Disable.

3. Block Notifications

  1. Go to Settings > System > Notifications.
  2. Scroll down to "Notifications from apps and other senders".
  3. Turn off notifications for ioloHP Support Assistant, or any unknown app sending pop-ups.

4. Use HP Support Assistant to Remove Offers

  1. Open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon).
  3. Under Notifications, disable promotional or partner offers.

5. Scan for Adware (Optional but Recommended)

Even if you have antivirus, run a scan with Malwarebytes Free to check for adware or PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
