Getting laptop to recognize microdisk card

Recently bought new 15"laptop computer which I use primarily for genealogy and watching videos on Hulu and Amazon Prime - already am having space issues - bought a disk for it but cannot get the computer to recognoze that there is a microdisk so that I can save things to the disk - what do I have to do to get the computer to recognize that there is a microdisk in it?

Your machine supports SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. What is your microdisk card (brand, model). If you bought a microSD card you need an adapter from microSD to SD such as

(any brand can do)

This is the card I purchased that my computer is not recognizing - it says it has an adaptor however ???  I have gone ahead and ordered the adoptor you recommended - should be here in a couple days - will advise if it makes a difference.  Thanks for the recommendation.

The adaptor arrived today, plugged it in and it worked exactly as it was supposed to.  Thanks so much for your help - I was ready to tear my hair out as no where did I read that I needed something like this to make this work with my computer.  Bless you for helping make something so frustrating a simple solution that hould be clear and easy to resolve that sin't.
