Hi
For some unavoidable reasons I have switched from windows 10 to windows 7 home premium 64 bit recently, although everything went perfectly well the synaptic touchpad drivers are not working. I have installed the driver proevided at the official hp site. The synaptic driver got installed without any glitch and prompt to restart the system. Upon performing the reboot the synaptic touchpad software has been crashed. To be sure I have uninstalled the software from control panel and repeated the process for second time, but this time also the process fails and the software got crashed.
I have installed perticularly this version, to one of my friends laptop, which is just an analogue to my laptop and it was running windows 7 pro 64 bit version, and every thing went well.
Thank You.

Thanks Chimney_83 for your concern.
I have found the right driver for synaptic touchpad using the hardware id of my touchpad from a site called driver identifier. Sorry I haven't got the time to post it in the thread till now. The driver can be obtained from the link attached below.

Greetings @shiba32,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that you changed the OS from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and the synaptic driver is not working, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?
Recommend you uninstall Synaptics from Programs and features (control panel)
Restart your computer and run HP Support Assitant to update all the drivers automatically on your computer. Click here to know more about HPSA.
Also, make sure all the Windows updates are installed on your computer.
Run a component test on the touchpad to make sure the touchpad is working fine.
To boot the computer to system diagnostics, keep tapping F2 repeatedly on startup.
Then Select component test and then select touchpad.
If the test fails, please contact our phone support to check for any service options available for your computer.
Keep me posted.
