I just bought the HP 250R G9 laptoop and I am surprised to see that this laptop does not come with a battery charging limit option which limits the maximum limit to which a plugged in laptop can charge (usually 80 percent).

Is there any plan to update for the BIOS with this feature?

Is any other option in order to get the battery charging limit option in the above laptop?

Thank you in advance for your help

There isn't one; these models are designed to charge the battery to 100%, then the power supply is cut off and it runs only on mains power; this extends the battery’s life, but keep in mind that it is necessary to discharge the battery periodically, so twice a week discharge the battery to 50%, then turn off the laptop and charge it to 100% while using the laptop plugged into the power outlet.

Hi @gkamas

Only models in the business line have a battery charge limit feature in the BIOS. HP now includes Adaptive Battery technology in its gaming and premium models. Follow the steps at this link to check if your device has this type of battery.

I should point out that a BIOS update does not enable that feature, as it also depends on whether the laptop has the necessary hardware installed for that option.

First of all thank you for your reply

I checked the link and HP 250R G9 does not have Adaptive Battery technology. Is there any other solution in order to avoid charge the battery always to 100%?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards
