Recently have been getting "The code execution cannot proceed because accelerometerdll.dll was not found...." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the official version for my PC from the HP support site, which is version 6.0.28.1.  I still get the error message.  I have found other versions of DriveGuard during research, but not sure if these are compatible with my specific PC, such as version 6.0.41.1 dated Oct 2016, sp78033.exe. What is the latest compatible version for my PC?

Hi:

See if David's solution at the link below also works for you...

Thanks! After installation of version 6.0.41.1  and pc restart, the error message did not display.  However, during the installation, a brief DOS window popped up with an error.  However, I wasn't fast enough to grasp the details, it said something about a file.  In any case, DriveGuard is shown in Settings, Apps and it indicates the updated version, with a size of 2.18 MB.  There aren't any yellow or red flags in Device Manager, so I guess all is ok.  Is there another way to verify that DriveGuard has installed properly?

You're very welcome.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the System Devices category, and there should be a device labeled as a HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor.

That is the 3D driveguard device.  Click on thatdevice to verify that Windows reports "This device is working properly."

That way you know all is well.

Verified. It indicates that it is working properly.

Thanks again!
