I've been reading all the posts on this issue with HP 3D Drive Guard. The error showed up on my new PC when I finished with all the windows 10 updates through April. I chatted online with an HP Tech and was told to uninstall the Drive Guard and that was it. He said the newer PCs were configured to not need it anymore. I uninstalled and removed the accelerometer from the startup and have had no issues. BUT I'm wondering if I need to reinstall the version from all the posts. IF it is configured to not need it, why was it installed? Suggestions?

Your specs say you have a regular 7200rpm hard drive.
The HP 3D Driveguard Software protects the hard drive by parking the heads if the notebook is accidentally dropped.
This is your updated version.
Fixes an issue where HP 3D DriveGuard stops functioning properly after the operating system is updated, which subsequently causes an error message to be displayed.
