I have the "HP Accelerometer doesn't work with this version of windows, an updated app may be available".
I have uninstalled 3D Guard and re-installed via the other help discussions but this hasn't helped. I have also tried to manually locate the driver via device manager, this also didn't work. Please assist.
Thanks
Ryan

I gave up trying; I have better things to do than try a host of "fixes" that do not fix, adding to the frustration. I uninstalled the Driveguard, and will live without it. The computer is doing all kinds of things now that the warrantee is expired, and there seems to be neither ovious cause or cure, so I just put up with it. Last time I buy an HP anything, though; random, unexplained restarts when in the middle of doing something, no cause, according to the Built-in HP scan and maintenance, no new updates from my anti-virus, Windows, or HP, and no overheating, so I will no longer deal with HP, nor waste my time trying to fix things that apparently not broken, or that are broken but HP wants us to buy new sustems rather than fix their problems. My next purchace will be from a company that cares about their customers.

Hi Tsarina,
It looks like we have the same model and this was fixed for me after the above advice. I believe that this feature is to protect from shocks/drops etc so as long as you don't drop it..
Something that I had to also do is HP support assistant, there were a whole host of things that needed to be updated that has left mine running quite nicely. Just type in HP support assistant into start and on the left it will say updates.
Give it a go, worth a try
Cheers
Ryan

I check with HP Support Assistant every night, before I go to bed. There have not been any updated for the laptop in months. My bed-time routine consists of: Check for HP updates; Check for Anti-virus updates; Check for Windoze updates. I do not go to bed until I have done this. I think I found out why the computer was shutting down and restarting itself: I ran Belarc Advisor, and, to my shock, I needed 2 critical updates for the Adobe Flash Player. This did not pop up in Google Chrome, Windows, or even the Adobe Flash update page. I strongly recommend that you all download this freebie. No sudden shutdowns or restarts since.
