Hi team,

I have had multiple users receive a popup for HP Dynamic Audio extension for Google Chrome, and I have some questions regarding this;

 

1. What exactly is it?

2. What does it do

3. What causes the popup - some of the affected users have had their laptops for 2+ months, why is it only happening now?

4. The popup only appeared for ~10 seconds and then went away - was the extension installed or no?

We started to see the same nonense pop-up. This sounds like some sort of PUP extension that HP is trying to install. Basically unnecessary trash.

The sad part is this is appearing on Zbooks in our organization. This is a future vulnerability in progress.
Stop making unnecessary crapware.
