HP Envy X360 crashing when plugged in

HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-cn0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey Guys. I recently bought an HP Envy X360 and it freezes and crashes, giving a blue screen less than five minutes after booting.  The error most times is : "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" even though there are other errors.

The astonishing but weird thing is this PC doesn't crash  when plugged in but the moment I plug the PC while using, it crashes not more than 5 minutes after.

Who knows what I can do to fix this or should I just return the PC?

@Oluwiz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you able to boot to Windows? If yes, then I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when everything was working fine following the steps in the below article.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03327545

If the computer is not booting to Windows, then follow the below steps to boot to safe mode and then perform a system restore.

Try booting several times until you see a list of three boot options.

Click on Troubleshoot to see advanced options.

Select Advanced options.

Select Startup Settings.

Click on the Restart button.

Select Enable Safe Mode.

If you can log in, you can also use Clean Boot, which starts Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

Open the start menu and type “msconfig.”

Hit enter to open the System Configuration application.

Go to the Services tab and check the Hide all Microsoft services option.

Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.

Disable all services you see.

Restart your computer.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
