Hi:

If you want to stop the update from downloading and failing to install, run the Microsoft Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below.

The update will run and find the HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.29.0.0 update.

Check the box to hide the update.

The utility will run again and report the problem is 'Fixed.'

Restart the PC and the update should no longer appear.

If it does, you can click in the 'Retry' button and it will eventually go away.

That doesnt fix the problem.  just hides it....

Better to hide the problem then to wreck your notebook.

That is a BIOS update that is trying to install, and according to your notebook's support page, it is from last year.

If you have already installed F.29, then the reason it fails is because it is already installed.

Anyway, you don't absolutely need the update.

It's a routine BIOS update according to HP.

All it does is 'Provides improved security' whatever that means.

HP has 3 levels of BIOS updates:  Routine, Recommended and Critical.

Windows update has tried to install the same BIOS on two different PC's that I have...one HP and one Dell.

I hid the update.

No more problem.

No chance of bricking my PC's.

Hp update finds and recommends the same bios be installed and it fails from there also. This seems like a problem that should not just be ignored.
