I am using this laptop on AC Power most of the time. To prevent my battery from aging and damage, I want to know whether Can I use HP Intelligent Charging ? And if yes , How? I could only enable adaptive charging on BIOS, but could not set the charging limit.

Hi @BDGHY,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 Inch Laptop PC 14 does not appear to have a built-in feature called "HP Intelligent Charging" that allows users to set charging limits directly through software or BIOS settings. However, there are a few general tips and methods you can use to help prolong your battery's life when using the laptop on AC power most of the time.
- Keep Battery Cool: Heat is one of the factors that accelerates battery aging. Ensure your laptop stays in a well-ventilated area and avoid covering the ventilation grilles.
- Charge to 50-80%: Lithium-ion batteries last longest when they operate between 50% and 80% charge. You can manually unplug the laptop when it reaches around 80% charge and plug it back in when it drops closer to 50%, though this can be inconvenient.
- BIOS Settings (if available): Some laptops allow you to adjust battery charging settings in the BIOS. Since you mentioned adaptive charging is the only option, you may not have further options to limit charging.
- Occasional Full Discharge: It's recommended to occasionally (every few months) allow the battery to discharge fully and then recharge it completely. This helps calibrate the battery and can prolong its life.
- Hibernate vs. Sleep: When not in use, consider hibernating the laptop instead of putting it to sleep. Hibernation consumes zero power once the computer is turned off, whereas sleep mode still uses a small amount of battery.
Since your laptop does not seem to have a built-in option to set charging limits directly, you may have to rely on these general practices to minimize the wear on your battery over time.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
