Hi all, I have a HP probook laptop from work and it's not a bad laptop at all but I want to connect it to two screens I have set up in my study. I can connect one screen via the vga port and my laptop and detect the screens but i cannot shut my laptop and have it connected by just the dual screens? I have tried a vga spliter which will transmit the signal on both screens but detects them both as one screen. I have tried buying a vga to hdmi and connect one to the laptop and the other by vga but the spliter from vga to hdmi does not recognise the screen?? I am running out of ideas and need someone who knows this stuff. I have two monitors one with just vga and the other with vga and a funny looking connector what looks like a HDMI but isn't and has a d on it? but my laptop has only a mini hdmi and hdmi and a vga point.##Anyone who can help that be amazing or if i cannot use two screen then at least i know., ##Thank you all

You need a dock which supports TWO external monitors. Please check the following list

Hi

Thank you for your quick reponce, What do you think isd the best way for me to connect my monitors? THey have the following one of them an Asus have a vga and a dvi port and the hp one i have has a vga and a d-port. I also am not sure which one of the dual screen universal port to buy. Like anyone i want one as cheap as possible as it is only for work not for gaming etc. So could you please send me the cheap one i could buy to do a job and how to connect it so 2 x vga or 1 dvi and vga etc the best combinations. So again i want to extend my two screens while it is plugged in my laptop with the lid down. Thank you everyone for helping me
