Hi
I have had my laptop for a while now and there has been no problems however in the last couple of weeks it has frozen. I left it alone for a while and tried to restart it with the same results. I have also tried a hard restart with no progress. My laptop will start and the HP logo will come up and then it freezes. Please help!!!

Hi,

Then you can buy a replacement Hard disk drive from a local stor similar to the one shipped with the unit and reinstall the OS using recovery disk. If you dont have the recovery disk, then call the HP Support to order one by which you will be able to get the unit working.

Hi,

When the computer turns ON start tapping F2 key and it will launch the diagnostic screen. Run a test on Hard disk drive and System board, if both the test passes do let me know. Then we can try other steps.

Hi thank you for the reply
The system board test passes however the hard disk drive fails and comes up with the failure I.D PTWG3D-79188A-MFPV7F-60TH03

Hi,

The Failure ID refers to Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, you have to get the Hard disk drive replaced to get the unit working. Call the HP Phone support to get the Hard disk drive replaced for free if the unit is under warranty.
