EliteBook 8770W
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This is a bit annoying. I have SimplePass on my 8770W and it works great.

Only on first boot does it ask for my security question, likely because the sensor/driver isn't online.

I can hit Cancel and use my finger just fine, and if I log off or lock the machine it doesn't ask. Only on boot before logging in.

This extra required interaction is rather irritating.

I've already tried using Device Manager to disable turning off the sensor to save power, and I've tried delaying OmniServ service, but I get "the parameter is incorrect" and setting 'delayed start' in RegEdit does nothing.

Is this just a SimplePass bug?

I don't work for HP. I'm smarter than the people who do.

None of that was helpful.

I'm not using PBS. I have a password to enter the BIOS and an HDD password because the apartment I live in is filled with selfish thieves.

On top of that, I already said that Delayed Start doesn't work, even when forcing it in the registry.
