What is HP SoftPaq Download Manager? 

HP client management solutions support most HP commercial desktops, notebooks, workstations, etc.

HP SoftPaq Download Manager provides a simple way to download software updates for the HP client PC models in your environment. HP SDM can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to locate and download updates. SoftPaqs can be downloaded in as few as three easy steps from a single user interface after initial setup. HP SoftPaq Download Manager is flexible enough to complement most environments and software distribution tools. Whether downloading softpaqs for your HP PC, or managing thousands in your enterprise, you will find HP SDM an invaluable tool.

Overview

HP SoftPaq Download Manager is a software program developed by Hewlett-Packard. The most common release is 3.0.5.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named SoftPaqDownloadManager.exe. The setup package generally installs about 27 files and is usually about 14.16 MB (14,848,566 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows 8.

Will it do the installation of the drivers to after downloaded or is the software in a folder some place else.

Thank you for your reply !!!

You will have to open the HP SoftPaq Download Manager and click on check for updates.

HP SoftPaq Download Manager will list down all the required software for your PC.

You just have to select the required drivers from the list. It will download and install automatically.
