HP Stream Laptop 11-ah0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The laptops wifi driver is missing.  I go to NETWORK STATUS and the wifi isn't even an option anymore. On DEVICE MANAGER under "NETWORK ADAPTERS" there is no Wifi driver listed. Just a Bluetooth Device and 8 various WAN Miniports.

I have done the ping test on the command prompt and that read normal.  I have tried everything including reseting the computer but to no avail.  Anyone have any idea?

It's a HP Stream Laptop 11-ah00xx,

Processor: Intel Celeron N4000,

OS: Windows 10 (64)

SKU: 4ND15UA#ABA

Hi @ricklg3

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

It sounds like your HP Stream Laptop 11-ah0XX has completely lost its WiFi adapter, which can happen due to driver corruption or hardware failure. Since it's not showing up in Device Manager, here are a few steps to try:

1. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and enter BIOS (usually by pressing F10 or Esc during startup).
  • Look for Wireless LAN settings and ensure WiFi is enabled.

2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • HP has built-in diagnostics that can check for hardware failures.
  • Restart your laptop and press F2 to enter HP Diagnostics.
  • Run a Network Test to see if the WiFi adapter is detected.

3. Reinstall the WiFi Driver

4. Check Hidden Devices in Device Manager

  • Open Device ManagerViewShow hidden devices.
  • If the WiFi adapter appears, right-click and Update driver.

5. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop, unplug it, and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Then, restart and check if the WiFi adapter reappears.

Let me know if you need more guidance!
